Gusting Winds

While the majority of the presets do not add to the turbulence, there are some interesting scenarios to be had with increased turbulence.

Select one of the Gusting Winds presets to fly with some challenging crosswinds. This is particularly interesting for helicopter landings and aircraft take-offs. Research on helicopter pilots revealed that they were not so much worried about the wind speed as abrupt crosswinds.

This preset type was provided as a user request to make helicopter landings more challenging at sea. The same presets also affect take-off and landing conditions for general aviation aircraft. Microsoft have increased turbulence in general, and especially when close to buildings, trees, hills and mountains.
